Faculty are showing up and shaping this work. Strong unions are made by members who contribute time, attention, and skill. Below are the most direct ways to participate — from joining as a member, to running for office, to helping with the Prop 55 signature drive. Even small contributions, repeated, are how United Faculty does what it does.

Collecting Prop 55 Signatures

Officer and Representative Council elections are conducted by open nomination and secret ballot under CTA Election Code requirements. Officers serve two-year terms. The President and Vice President are elected in odd-numbered years; the Secretary and Treasurer are elected in even-numbered years. Representative Council members are elected by and from each academic division for two-year terms.
United Faculty membership is open to any full-time, non-administrative, non-supervisory faculty member of the North Orange County Community College District. Active members in good standing have the right to vote in chapter elections, run for office, serve on committees, receive full grievance representation, and access all CCA / CTA / NEA member benefits described in Member Services.
Committees are the work engines of United Faculty. Members of any active standing committee are appointed by the President subject to Rep Council approval, per the bylaws. Currently active and accepting member interest: Communications Committee — newsletter, website, member-facing communications. Elections Committee — nominations, ballots, certification.
United Faculty distributes official updates two ways: by email broadcast from UF role-based accounts, and by posting to UnitedFacultyNOCCCD.org. Time-sensitive items also go out by text message. To receive both, register a member account on this site (Member Login box) using a personal email address, and confirm your mobile number on your account profile.
