Officer and Representative Council elections are conducted by open nomination and secret ballot under CTA Election Code requirements. Officers serve two-year terms. The President and Vice President are elected in odd-numbered years; the Secretary and Treasurer are elected in even-numbered years. Representative Council members are elected by and from each academic division for two-year terms.
Current vacancies and special elections are announced through this website, by email broadcast, and on the Events Calendar. Recent and upcoming election work:
- A special election was conducted under CTA mandate following an Elections and Credentials Committee fact-finding investigation, including a CTA-mandated re-run with binding directives on candidate slate, document approval, election training, and bylaws review.
- Spring 2026 special election for Secretary; general elections for additional Rep Council seats are conducted later in the term.
- Election personnel — including all members of the Executive Board and the Elections Committee — complete CTA-mandated election training.
To declare candidacy, contact the Elections Chair, Alejandro Omidsalar, at ElectionsChair@unitedfacultynocccd.org. The Elections Committee will provide the nomination form, the timeline, and the CTA-required documentation.
