CTA and CCA host professional development on a Bargaining / Advocacy / Membership cycle, plus winter Bargaining and Grievance Academies in alternating years. United Faculty can send 9 delegates to every CTA conference and may apply for additional CCA developmental grants to send more.

- CCA Spring Conference — April 24–26 (Irvine).
- CTA Lobby Day — April 14 (Sacramento).
- CCRCR — October 9–11 (San Francisco).
- FACCC Advocacy & Policy Conference — February 22–23.
- CTA Organizing Academy — January (annual).
- BSL / VSL — odd-year academies for newer members.
- CLA — even-year academy for experienced local leaders.
- DEIA Academy — in development.
United Faculty reimburses members for approved conference attendance under the chapter Standing Rules. Lodging, parking, certain travel and baggage fees are covered; airfare at coach. The Saturday-dinner cap is $90 including 18% tip on the subtotal. Dependent-care reimbursement is available up to $800 per event.
