Article 16 covers department coordinator timelines and obligations. The District has proposed a department-coordinator evaluation tool; UF is pushing back until the role, the duties, and the release-time provisions are clearly defined. Evaluations cannot be added to a position whose scope and compensation have not been settled.
Related workload issues currently in negotiations:
- Article 4 — Department collaboration; division-meeting dynamics.
- Article 5 — Ancillary duties; non-credit office hours embedded within the existing 30-hour workweek (NOCE).
- Article 8 — Overload assignments.
- Article 12 — Class cancellation.
- Article 22 — Distance education.
- Article 29 — Extensive Lab; clearer and more consistent criteria.
- Coach, T-TEC automotive, and nursing program duty-day issues — multiple cases of work performed outside the 10-month contract or before the official start date are under review.
If you are being asked to perform department-coordinator duties without coordinator release time, or to teach overload, distance, or extensive-lab sections under unclear terms, contact your Grievance Rep.
